Peace Oil,
extra virgin olive oil, is from Palestinian farmers using traditional
methods of the region, without artificial pesticides and fertilizers.

Peace
Oil Partners with Three Fair Trade Groups
Sindyanna
of Galilee, a group of Arab and Jewish women, buys olive oil from
Arab and some Jewish farmers in the Galil region of Israel. These women
work to promote land preservation, environmental quality, womens
empowerment and labor rights. Sindyanna is certified by IFAT.
Green Action Israel, a grass-roots, socio-ecological change
group, promotes fair trade in Israel. Avi Levi, Green Actions fair
trade advocate, works with farmers in three West Bank villages near Nablus
to help them develop export markets.
Canaan Fair Trade, based in Jenin, Palestine, sells the delicacies
of over 1700 farmers organized in informal cooperatives in Palestine and
represented by the Palestine
Fair Trade Association. Both Green Action Israel and Sindyanna follow
the guidelines of the PFTA.
Recently, David Sokal, owner of Olive Branch Enterprises — the importer,
bottler and distributor of Peace Oil — was in Israel Palestine and
visited the West Bank with Avi Levi of Green Action Israel. He also visited
the Sindyanna warehouse in Kufr Kanna and met with Hadas Lahav, director.
A report on this visit will be posted on this website in the next few
months.
