Canaan Fair Trade based in Jenin, Palestine is committed to empowering farming communities,
preserving Palestinian culture and protecting the environment. Canaan
reinvests a portion of its profits in the community by providing thousands
of olive trees (38,400 to date) and ten, full, four-year scholarships
a year. Since its founding in 2003, Canaan has become the largest exporter
of Palestinian olive oil. Peace Oil Original is 75% Canaan olive oil.
Sindyanna of Galilee: Palestinian
and Jewish Women for Peace, Justice and Equality. Since 1998,
Sindyanna has empowered Palestinian women through job training and improved
the local Palestinian economy by purchasing traditional products: olive
oil from Galilee Arab farmers; olive oil soap from Nablus; za'atar and
carob syrup made from wild native plants in the Galilee. Palestinian women

valuable job experience. Sindyanna was founded by Samya Nasser, an Arab
Israeli, and Hadas Lahav a Jewish Israeli. Both still actively direct
the group. Peace Oil Original is 12.5% Sindyanna olive oil. Peace Oil Sindyanna is 100% Sindyanna olive oil.
Green Action: Israelis
and Palestinians Working for Fair Trade. Green Action sends
volunteers into small rural West Bank villages in the Salfit area. They
help the farmers organize into cooperatives, improve the quality of the
olive oil to export standards, and harvest the olives. Green Action buys
the olive oil for distribution in Israel and worldwide. Avi Levi, the
fair trade advocate for Green Action, is one of few Israelis (other than
settlers and soldiers) that regularly travel in the West Bank.
